Our "TRUE" Cowboy.....Brenten

Brentens ride.....On Friday June 20, we went down to Pleasant Grove for the Strawberry Days Rodeo, Brenten had signed up for the Mutton Busting and came in full cowboy attire...complete with a "big ol' belt buckle" We checked in at the gate and he wandered around and saw all of the bulls up close. When it came time to enter the shoot and put on his vest and helmet he was a little worried that he would have to trade in his cowboy hat for a helmet. Luckily the rodeo people told him he could wear his hat. He was still a little leery but he wanted to ride "for his sister" he knew Lexie was sitting in the stands waiting for her cowboy brother to ride the sheep. They announced his name and out he came from the shoot clinging to the back of that sheep...he had a great ride and scored 66 (yeah who knows what that means exactly) but he was awarded a Tshirt from a rodeo princess and walked away a "true cowboy" afterall his hat stayed on even after the ride!

Here's our little cowgirl entering the rodeo...

Lots of posts!

Okay okay...so its been more than a long time since I have posted...so I updated some today... I don't really have a great excuse for lack of posts...I'd like to say really busy but probably really lazy is more likely the reason!! :)
Stay tuned though...I have a whole bunch of Strawberry Days pictures to post soon too!

Rainbows--A treat from the past!

On our way home from the zoo we stopped in Bountiful to visit Dave-- sadly he wasn't home but Nick said since "we were in the neighborhood" we should stop at "Paces Dairy Ann" for Rainbows...I guess when he was in High School he used to go there all the time... a rainbow is a slushy with vanilla ice cream. Really they were very good!
Lexie was a little tired after her day at the zoo....
***PS A side note for those of you in Utah County...Taco Amigo has something similar called a Glacier--seriously a good cold treat!

Utah's Hoglo Zoo!

A couple weekends ago we decided to make a trip to Hoglo Zoo. It has been a couple of years since we've been, and it was a lot of fun. It was a perfect day weather wise and apparently half the population of Utah agreed....There were SO MANY people there! The kids had lots of fun though and loved seeing all the animals.

Here we are checking in at the front gates!

Brenten with his ticket!

This is a classic pictures op---How do you measure up?!

On to Tee Ball

So with soccer season behind us we have now moved onto Tee Ball. Brenten loved soccer...but he also loves playing tee ball too! He is on the Yankees this year and has had some great hits and catches already! We've practiced a couple times in our backyard...we set up some pretend bases and take turns hitting and running and catching....Lexie feels that her turn is in between everyone else...Lexie-Brenten-Lexie-Me-Lexie-Nick-Lexie-Brenten when she is in the "outfield" she trys to heckle the batter...which is way funny because it sounds more like flirting.."He-ey batter....swing!" Its lots of fun!
Batter Up!!
I'm open, I'm open!!
Straight into the mitt!

Soccer Pictures

Last year towards the end of soccer the coach sent home order forms for pictures..I LOVE any chance for photos and loved the team/solo picture that we got (everyone's seen them or had them top right corner single picture...bottom center team picture...the classic sport portfolio) Anyway for some reason this year on picture day at the soccer field the photographers didn't show! Are you kidding me?!?! Oooh sooo professional! Anyway, I had my camera so I took some pictures of the kids and the team...I think they turned out pretty good...hopefully the other parents like how they turned out too!
