On our way home from the zoo we stopped in Bountiful to visit Dave-- sadly he wasn't home but Nick said since "we were in the neighborhood" we should stop at "Paces Dairy Ann" for Rainbows...I guess when he was in High School he used to go there all the time... a rainbow is a slushy with vanilla ice cream. Really they were very good!

Rainbows--A treat from the past!

Utah's Hoglo Zoo!
A couple weekends ago we decided to make a trip to Hoglo Zoo. It has been a couple of years since we've been, and it was a lot of fun. It was a perfect day weather wise and apparently half the population of Utah agreed....There were SO MANY people there! The kids had lots of fun though and loved seeing all the animals.
Brenten with his ticket!
This is a classic pictures op---How do you measure up?!
On to Tee Ball
So with soccer season behind us we have now moved onto Tee Ball. Brenten loved soccer...but he also loves playing tee ball too! He is on the Yankees this year and has had some great hits and catches already! We've practiced a couple times in our backyard...we set up some pretend bases and take turns hitting and running and catching....Lexie feels that her turn is in between everyone else...Lexie-Brenten-Lexie-Me-Lexie-Nick-Lexie-Brenten when she is in the "outfield" she trys to heckle the batter...which is way funny because it sounds more like flirting.."He-ey batter....swing!" Its lots of fun!
Soccer Pictures

Last year towards the end of soccer the coach sent home order forms for pictures..I LOVE any chance for photos and loved the team/solo picture that we got (everyone's seen them or had them top right corner single picture...bottom center team picture...the classic sport portfolio) Anyway for some reason this year on picture day at the soccer field the photographers didn't show! Are you kidding me?!?! Oooh sooo professional! Anyway, I had my camera so I took some pictures of the kids and the team...I think they turned out pretty good...hopefully the other parents like how they turned out too!

Our new toy...

So two weekends ago we decided to build our kids a new playhouse/swingset. Brenten has been obsessed with wanting a "treehouse" however we have no trees! We try and tell him that by the time any trees we plant would grow big enough and strong enough to support a treehouse, he will likely a)not live here anymore, or b) not really care about tree houses anymore or c)all of the above!! The directions call for two above average skilled adults to spend 24-30 hours building this...Nick felt that he could throw this thing up in no more than 5 or 6 hours--by himself! He actually got it up in only two days...but tried to kill himself in the process...he worked really hard. The kids LOVE it...the saddest part was that it got finished and the next day came the rain...and we've had off and on rain ever since! There have been a few good days though and they run out to play at any chance!
Lexie loves her swing, and her slidy slide!
There is a ladder on the other side, but both feel that you
need to climb the rockwall/ladder and crawl through the
Lexie is holding a fruit by the foot...they both think this is
the perfect place for snacks and lunch!

Last Day of Kindergarten...

So Brenten had his Kindergarten Program on Tuesday of last week and it was SO FUN! His class was positively adorable...they sang a bunch of songs and had some cute narrating in between...I loved it. We videoed it and I might try and post a few clips....at the end of the program the teachers had put together a little slide show of the year...oh my tear jerker! It is so great to see how much those little kids have grown and learned over the course of a year! After wards we decided to go and get Aggie Ice Cream per Brenten's request...After we went there a couple weeks ago, he and Lexie have decided that's their favorite!

Time Flies When Your Having Fun!!
Hi Everyone.... So its been awhile since I've posted anything new...which is largely due to laziness on my part. I have tons of pictures to sort through but I just haven't gotten around to it, and I feel like posting is more fun with photos! But here are a couple of pictures to clue you into what's new at the Bowman household!

Soccer season is still going strong....Brenten absolutely loves it, he has been having "a Ball"

(he he funny I know) Anyway he scored his first goal when Mom and Dad came to watch a couple of weeks ago. I have to explain the dollar thing...so he has been playing and playing well, but sometimes half way through the game he would kind of lose steam, well another boy on the team has a deal with his mom that he gets a dollar for each goal he kicks in, So we told Brenten we would honor the same deal with him...oh my heck that kid played with more power than we knew he had---sad that it took money to inspire him! But he did get a goal and therefore a dollar...however the deal was off after that and he has still continued to improve his game. I think he likes a little competition...I wish we could have videoed how the game went last week when he played against some kids in his class...yeah the kids are only 5 and 6 but oh wow they were competitive! It was hilarious...Brenten scored 2 goals that game!! He has four games left and then we are on to TBall...We are loving every minute!

When Mom and Dad came to visit, we took them on a hike to the Wind Caves...I haven't been on that hike since college and let me tell you either its harder than I remember or I am completely out of shape (yeah, lets not fool ourselves it's definately the latter of the two) But I think we all survived well...Brenten did the whole thing without help...Lexie did alright but that was probably because she pretty much had a ride up and down~ She liked to hike, she was just incredibly SLOW. It was fun though, even though it is supposed to be spring, we saw plenty of snow and not too much green yet...we'll have to hike it again when it is nicer.

We had a great Mother's Day ( I missed you Mom, I hope your day was great) Nick and Brenten put a cd player in my car---Yea!! My radio in its current condition was WAY getto...missing buttons, burned out lights...really sad! But I love my new one...and the best part is that we can play "How do you know.." (from Enchanted) every time we get in. (It's a personal fave of Lex) Brenten made me some cookie flowers in a flower pot and a card at school, and was so excited to give them to me...I have some pictures on a different camera I'll try and post later. So sweet.
Now we are almost through yet another week...time is cruisin' it seems! Brenten only has ONE MORE WEEK of school--I am dying!! How is that so?!!? I seems like he just started, and I am not ready for him to be done with Mrs. Reid yet! He has his Kindergarten Program on Tuesday and then testing on Thursday and then he's done! Wow....
Okay this was lots of talk, but hopefully you stuck through to the end...if not I totally understand! :)
