Baby Animal Days

I love Spring...usually...I love seeing my tulips pop up, I love it when it is flipflop weather (basically as soon as the huge snow drifts are gone), I love when the weather gets warm and you don't have to bundle up everywhere you go...And I love Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Farm....all those cute and cuddle little animals are SO fun! We have missed it due to weather and because we usually like to head down to my mom's but this year we decided to stay, and it was a lot of fun...I have a million pictures and I am having trouble loading them so you get what you get...and I'll just let the photos tell the story.
The kids rode horses, ate worms, held a variety of animals, shot arrows, through sticks at mammoths, and saw the Easter Bunny can't you see how thrilled Lexie is??
***ps...yes, my hair is red. I am a crazy person these days...nuff said.

Miss Mckenna Gets Baptized!!

My sweet neice Mckenna got baptised a few weeks ago, and we were so excited to go see her!! Brenten has been a little apprehensive about the whole baptism thing...he gets really nervous to get his hear underwater...so watching Mckenna get baptised was so great...poor kid he was so nervous, he thought that you got held under water while prayers were said...he was relieved to see that the underwater part was pretty quick!! Holly asked if I would make a cake for the luncheon afterwards so here are some pictures of that...it was so DELICIOUS if I say so myself (which I just did hahaha) The top layer was kindof like Strawberry Shortcake, there was a cream filling and strawberry sauce with vanilla cake, the bottom layer was my fave...chocolate chocochip with a cream cheese filling..yum...I hope everyone enjoyed it!

Brenten's Birthday Take 2

Brenten really wanted a friend party, and decided that he really wanted to go bowling, we told him he could invite a few friends and we'd have a party. Oh my oh my, I did not think that 5 boys could be so wild...but were they ever...Thank you so much for helping me out Lauree...yes, they were beyond crazy! But it was fun and I think everyone enjoyed themselves! Happy Birthday Brenten...again!!
***Again...I am having trouble loading my photos...sorry!!

Brenten is 7!!!!

Yes Grandpa I agree...Family fun=chaos!!

Such a cheeser!!!

Wow, its been a whirlwind couple of weeks but we had a birthday at our house and I felt the need to mention it! We love that Brenten and much to his mom's surprise he in fact had another birthday and is .....7!!! Oh my goodness where or where does the time go???? We had fun helping him celebrate and hope he had a great day...he decided he wanted a Star Wars party and at first I was planning a light saber cake...I had the idea in my head on how to do it, and then due to some "helpful" ideas he decides he needs the Millenium Falcon as his cake instead...what the ?????????? how was I going to do that??? Well you'll see I tried, and in his eyes succeeded (even though the cockpits should be jutting out a little farther) He was thrilled to have Grandma and Grandpa, Kenna and Kaitlyn, and Ashlee and Craig come to celebrate with him...I didn't get too many pictures because my camera battery was dead but here are the few I snapped! Happy Birthday Baby!!! I mean dude....
******So I am annoyed the pictures loaded completely out of order and I can't figure out how to edit them in the order I want or add the captions I want so oh well...you see the pictures you get the idea it will just have to be okay

What we've learned...

Hi again...a few updates for you today...
This really is a random post of misc. stuff! First some of you may remember THIS POST from last year...every year Brenten's school has a sing and dance festival and this year they sang a fun song about polka-dot vests and pink shoe laces! Brenten did awesome of course! He stayed right on beat and knew every word...we were very proud of him! In other Brenten news, I was able to go to Parent Teacher night last week and talk with his teacher...Brenten is pretty much a genious! :) He is doing so GREAT in school! He was Student of the Month in February, and he is top of his class in reading, and does great in math as well! Keep up the good work dude~!
In other "school news" it was my turn to teach preschool a couple of weeks ago...Lexie was beyond excited that we got to teach about "BrockoBama" the first week we learned about Patriotism, our Country and President, George Washington and Abe Lincoln....hopefully the kids learned a little something even though one little student thinks our current Pres. is "rockin my bama" and a couple were certain Joseph Smith was the first President... the kids are way fun and definately keep it interesting!
The next week we learned about Weather and the Letter R, we painted rain clouds and sang songs about wind, sun, and snow!
And one more comment on "class time" I finished up another Cake Decor Class this one featuring Fondant and Gum Paste.... I really liked this class and felt like we learned some great techniques however on our last class when we are supposed to share our spectacular cakes my cake was the cake from HELL yes people I said it and yes I'll say it again...THE CAKE FROM HELL! It started out okay, the cake cooking in the oven, me at the counter molding some of my flowers, and then I started screwing up the flowers I ran out of colored gum paste before I had completed the petals, and I couldn't mix the right color to match because I had mixed a few colors, so I put that aside to work on some different flowers and right as I was finishing I bumped them wrong and broke a couple of petals, so I put aside the flowers decided to frost and fill my cake, I had this great vanilla cream filling and yummy frosting...when I was cutting my cake to fill it I realized the inside wasn't done...so the cake is falling apart half cooked I am trying to hold it together with toothpicks since there is NO time to cook another or even go buy one somewhere, I am covering it with fondant and I ripped the fondant down one side...then ran into to the color match problem with the fondant when I ran out of border...and when I got in my car to drive there I completely shoved my already stuggle-ugly cake into my steering wheel...what a freaking joke! The cake completely hideous but oh well I have another certificate saying I can decorate cakes so its all good I guess!
This turned out nothing like the cake I had invisioned!
And last but certainly not least we got to go and celebrate my neice's 1st birthday last weekend...Happy Birthday Lindsey! This marks the jumping off point of months of Family Fun...we have quite the run coming up but it will be a party I am sure!
Here's the Bday girl and her sista's
A little Wii Playing...
Loo La and her Grandma...she {Hearts} that Grandma!
I completely understand...I {Heart} My Grandma and Grandpa too!!

Wow I am lousy at posting!!

hey all,
So I am so lazy...I never post anything on my blog anymore, which is funny because I love to check everyone's blogs and if they don't post I think--why don't they ever post---I know dumb. Anyway here's what we've been up to lately...
My final cake class with Lauree...our cakes were oh so special...

I absolutely hate pictures of me...but it was "graduation" :)
We've been having "snow" much fun in Logan...is it time for spring yet??

Catching snowflakes!
I am another year older and wiser too...yep it was my birthday, my mom and family came up to visit and cook me the most delicious dinner

I made a cake for my mom since her birthday is just a week before mine...

Lexie had her first hair cut...if you can call the tiniest trim a hair cut...
Brenten opted to wait for a professional!
On Thursday it was a busy day at our house, Brenten had a Valentine's Party at school (yes, treat bags) and then I had another cake class...Lauree and I had so much fun with the last one we decided to sign up for another, after cake class I had my Stamp Nite, which proved to be chaos! Carly brought her clippers so she could cut Brentens hair, I was running late so nothing was set up, and I arrived home to find Lexie running in circles with her friends screaming and playing, Brenten playing haircut in the kitchen, and all of my stamp girls leaned awkwardly in any place they could find given the fact there were no chairs but tables taking up lots of room...so what did I do, tossed down my cake and grabbed my camera---next month ladies it will not be so crazy...maybe

Carly you did a great job though...so thanks!!
And to finish off my updates on Saturday Dave got married...and we risked our lives to travel FOREVER through a blizzard to get to the Joseph Smith Building! Funny that at 8:30am it was treacherous, we counted like 10 cars off the side of the rode, but at 4:00pm on our way home...the sun was shining and the rodes were clear! Utah weather I guess!

My kids were so excited to see their Grandpa Dave get married!

I mean doesn't this scream excitement??? :)
Really they were way excited and they had fun, this was after Brenten had finished not only his dinner but Lexie's as well...the food....oh it was SO GOOD!

The temple looked so pretty with all the snow...it was fun to watch all the brides coming out, I don't think they were enjoying getting snowed on however! :)
Okay this is it for now...I'd say I'll be better but, really, no promises!
