Finally some updates...

So here I am again...on track for my one every couple of months update! We've been good...I'll let the pictures tell the stories...but I have been having a little trouble with Blogger getting my photos to load in the right order so we'll see how it goes...
Okay up first...Little Miss Lexie had a birthday in December and had been requesting a Little Mermaid Birthday since about March (she likes to plan ahead) I was a little unsure of how to have a Little Mermaid party in December, and as it turned out she ended up not having a "friend" party, and I found it somewhat difficult to find ANY Little Mermaid decor in December...but she got her mermaid cake, so she was pleased!
Lexie's actual birthday happened to fall on the same day we had our Family Christmas party, so the lucky lady ended up with another birthday cake! This one a little more holiday themed...oh how we love these birthdays so close to holidays...
Fast forward to February when my friend and I made a Wedding Cake...yes that's right we made a Wedding Cake! It was so much fun--alot of time, and definately alot of work---a few mishaps along the way-but the end result...pretty fantastic if I do say so myself!
check out the inspiration cake here and then check out out cake below...didn't we do good??
Next thing we knew, it was March and St. Paddy's day! Now you know that is a popular holiday around here...and we had alot of fun! Sneaky Leprechauns turned all the water in our house green..we celebrated with lots of green food, and Lexie got her ears pierced! What does ear piercing have to do with St. Patricks Day you may wonder? I don't have a good answer..sparkles and shine, and granting the wish of my little one I guess!
After St. Paddy's it was time for another birthday at our house...My not so little guy requested a Mario Cake...
Brenten had lots of fun celebrating this year...we brought treats to his class at school, he invited a friend to go see Diary of the Wimpy Kid in the theatre, and he was spoiled rotten with a new skateboard, new clothes, a new Wii game, new Basketball and the clothes to go with it and thanks to my sis the lovely Captain Underpants books as well as totally gross cd!
And now we are at April...my kids couldn't wait to pull some pranks on April Fools, we decided it would be fun to have "Dessert for Dinner" and "Dinner for Dessert" They loved their "cupcakes" and "sushi"
Our "foolish" cupcakes...Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes on top
Our "sushi" = Fruit roll ups, Rice Crispy treats, Gummy worms!
As you can see even though I haven't been posting, we are alive and well and hoping for sunshine! I do have some more pictures to put on my computer to catch up the rest of our adventures, but for now...this has been a pretty long post so I'm signing off!
Thanks for stopping by!!

So the last little (long) while, I feel like I am so far behind on life I'll never catch up, I saw this comic today and it made me laugh...I can totally relate!

Winterfest

So I should definately be doing other work and not blogging, but I needed a break so here I am at my computer posting some cute pictures of Lexies latest dancing adventure!! :)
I'm not sure I'm crazy about this years costume (I loved last years way better) but I do love my little dancing girl and she sure loves to boogie!! The other night her class performed two dances, one was "My Little Umbrella" but as you can see the umbrella wasn't so little, it was quite a workout for some of those little ladies, but they were adorable and did a great job! Her next dance is to the song, "Its in his kiss.." not sure if that's the correct title but maybe...anyway here are a few photos and I guess I'd better get back to work!

This is why we didn't go to Kaitlyn's Birthday

So I think that we are destined to have our plans not work out this month....but oh well I guess we'll roll with it! Last weekend we planned on going to SLC to visit the Temple Lights but it snowed and snowed so to Salt Lake we did not go. This weekend Brenten and Lexie were anxiously awaiting Saturday to go help Kaitlyn celebrate her 7th birthday, and we woke up to snow...and then at lunch, it was still snowing, and as the day progressed it snowed still....So again to Salt Lake we did not go.

Oh...Hi!!

Hi again...yeah remember me, the girl who used to think since she was so behind on all her scrapbooking and journal writing that she'd just keep up to date by blogging the fun moments of life...oh yeah, well obviously hasn't been happening a whole lot huh??? I'd love to make excuses, promises of being better but heck I'd probably just be chatting to myself unless by some strange chance a few of you are still stopping by to see when I'll break my silence....are you? Anyone? Anyone still checking on us??? I hope so... :) So yeah it would be way to much to back track so I'll just go with a few fun photos of October---its still October right? Oh wait no...FREAKIN ALMOST THANKSGIVING!!!!! AHHHHHH~! Yeah I am having a heart attack, but anyway lets pretend for a moment that it is still October. Because that was a fun blink in time! Grandma and Grandpa decided to travel up north and visit us crazy folk in Logan. Hopefully we showed them a fun time, we took them to the "Pumpkin Walk" which I love and really contrary to the photos of my over joyed children they say they love it too. They however were not in the mood for any photo ops, but HA I took the pictures anyway...all about the memories right??? We made delicious Pumpkin Pancakes with Caramel Pecan Syrup (oohh such a delicious treat) Grandpa went and cheered on the Aggies (shocked anyone???) We taught Brenten to play Skip Bo (no he's not quite as serious into it as our Grandma, but really is anyone?) There was a movie night of The Proposal and Pedicures, another lovely breakfast, this time Belgian Waffles with homemade strawberry syrup, fresh strawberries and of course whipped cream and then later a Beautiful ride to Porcupine Dam to check out the fall leaves and to show The Old People someplace they'd never been. (you may think that is disrespectful to refer to my grandparents as the Old People, but really they know we love them!) We had fun and the kids loved having Grandma and Grandpa camp out on the air mattress for THREE whole SLEEPOVERS!
Before we could catch our breath it is onto Halloween...I promised my kids I would sew their costumes (why oh why couldn't we just by the ones from WalMart???) and quite honestly I worried that they wouldn't get done but alas...Little Miss was ready to Rock for her Dance Halloween Party, and Brenten was in full Star Wars Gear in time for the costume parade at his school. Now please don't judge to harshly on the photos, I am still (Yes four days from Thanksgiving, still clinging to the dream) thinking that I will dress them up in their costumes and take some photos in good lighting so you can get the full effect of the costumes. Or at the very least put the trick or treating shots still sitting on my memory card onto the computer so you could see those but for now here are a couple shots of Lex on her way to Dance and a very blurry Brenten marching in the costume parade at his school! Anyway enjoy the few photos we have and please come back soon....even though from my track record we shouldn't be seeing a new post until around Valentines!!!! But hey, maybe I'll surprise you.....

Blogging Again

Wow so I don't blog......ever......but I decided that maybe we should play a little catch up. If nothing else I finally got some pictures loaded to my computer and updating is much funner with visuals. We had a fun summer, I still hate to think that it is over ---I'm sooooo not ready for fall/winter. I guess fall wouldn't be so bad except that it is so short and then winter sets in for like a million months...but no we don't need to go there quite yet!! :)
Okay where to start....(ps I really hope that I am able to sort my pictures, if not this will not make the most sense) okay starting... This summer we packed up our kids and headed down to Cherry Hill to camp for a couple nights and play at the water park, I am so sad I did't get any pictures playing at the water park but we had a great time, on our way home we took in Ice Age 3 in 3d, and stopped by Hill Air Force base to check out the museum there (which was way cool)
Also we had our annual 24th of July celebration, the kids thought it was great to go visit the swimming pool and Grandma and Grandpa's hotel, they like the fireworks and barbeque in our backyard (especially the sparklers) but they REALLY loved having a sleepover with Ashlee and Craig!
Brenten's friend Isaac moved away this summer, those boys have known each other since they were 2 and so they were happy to have a sleep over before he left, as well as one when he came to visit for a couple of days. We're sad they had to move but think its great that he'll be going to school at the same school Grandma's teaching at this year---maybe next year she'll have Isaac in her class!!
We spent alot of July just "hangin'" around waiting for our yearly trip to Bear Lake...my kids start looking forward to this family vacation about a day or two after we get home!![
Sadly this year you can tell a little by the photo....warm it was not!! The first couple of days it rained and was cold, but we braved the beach anyways and got LOTS of Skip Bo playing in, the kids didn't seem to mind the inclement weather...they were just happy to see Aunt Shanna from New York and their cousins. It didn't hurt to have nonstop entertainment from Ashlee and Craig and Grandma and Grandpa and Grandma and Grandpa Golding either!!!
And the sun did finally come out....
Also while we were at Bear Lake, Brenten lost his first tooth!!! Lucky for him he brought his "wallet" and the Tooth Fairy found him at the condo---the next morning he woke to two shining gold dollars and a pack of "good for your teeth gum"!!
Also this summer I've been trying to boost my sewing skills, ( I can't really say that I have) but as a result I have taught Lexie that "picking out fabrics" is a great way to spend an afternoon, she fell in love with this pink Dora material the second she saw it and of course need some pajamas...
But alas the summer is coming to a close and the school air is around us, just last Saturday we spent the day at the stadium watching the Aggie Scrimmage and meeting all the new football players, Brenten even played catch with an Aggie Football Player as well as got a few autographs (to him those football players are nothing short of celebrities) Needless to say he was in heaven, after the treats and bounce house, Lexie was ready to go! Funny the priorities of these kids!! :)
GO AGGIES!!!
So there you have it, a glimpse at what we've been up to...of course there is always more stories to be told, so stay tuned for why monkeys should NOT jump on beds, and Brenten's first day of Second Grade!!!! Until then thanks for checking on us!!!

Yes, I know...its been awhile

Hello again blogworld....hopefully a few friends are still out there checking on us even though I haven't reported much lately! Here are a few updates on our little lives....I've been working like crazy the last couple of months-its been a little crazy to go from a couple of days a week to EVERYday of the week and long days at that but things are finally getting a little better(I even had 2 days off last week for Strawberry Days--woohoo!!) Brenten successfully finished 1st Grade...which lets be honest are you freakin kidding me???!!! How in the world is my child old enough for 2nd Grade?? Actually we have the whole summer ahead of us, lets not age him quite yet!! Lexie-Lu preformed for us at her dance recital and did a fabulous job, she even came home with a "beautiful ballerina pink trophy" that she LOVES! We took a break on dance for the summer so she's just hanging out...she asks when its time for bal-a-ley class to start again she {hearts} that dance class!! :)
Brenten has been super busy playing soccer and baseball, and started swim lessons this week so we've been chasing after him....
And the dancer showing off her lovely pink trophy...Thanks to everyone who came to watch her! Sorry Grandpa about the seats....I hope your back has recovered!! :)
Here is Miss Lexie dancing away at her recital...she even has the "facials" down!! :)
We went on a ride a couple weekends ago and ended up at a Resevoir in Preston, we stopped to dip our feet in the water (it was windy and cold but Brenten and Lex didn't mind) and skip a few rocks! Here are the crazy children enjoying a snack...soaking wet....with freezing water...
So there you have it, a few of the things we've been up to anyway, I'll try and post a little more consistently(yeah, I say that alot don't I), and catch up on a few other things I've been meaning to blog about but who knows... In the meantime...thanks for checking!!
